The AI movement is on fire right now—and whether you’re a fan or still feeling unsure, there’s no denying it can be incredibly useful. Personally, I use AI all the time for things like researching, answering complex questions, organizing my thoughts, or expanding on concepts I’m working on.

Recently, I had the idea that AI might actually help with the prior authorization process for lipedema surgery, and after digging in, I found that—with the right prompts—you can uncover a ton of useful information. From understanding insurance policies to drafting strong letters or appeals, AI can absolutely be a helpful tool to make the process feel more manageable.

The key is learning how to structure prompts clearly—asking specific, detailed questions gets much better results than vague ones.

Now, here’s my big caveat: AI doesn’t replace professional advice. It also doesn’t browse the internet (unless you’re using a tool that allows that), so it can’t give real-time updates from your insurer. But it can guide you through what documents you might need, how to structure a strong appeal, and what language to use—all based on the growing library of lipedema information out there.

With that said, here are some prompts you can use to help you with your prior authorization process!
