Hi Everyone,

When you get your surgery approved and have been scheduled for your first surgery, there will still be a lot of out-of-pocket costs. Some of these costs may be obvious. But others are not, and they can add up.

If you have surgery in the same town where you live, congratulations! You will bypass all of these additional costs.

However, if your surgery is in a different state or otherwise far away from home, there is so much you’ll have to pay for that you’ll need to consider.

I don’t write this to discourage you from getting surgery but to inform you of the hidden costs of getting surgery away from home. Everyone will have different costs.

Below is a general guideline only for potential costs. With this, I will show you how much I spent:

Out-of-pocket costs for surgery and any medical services not covered by insurance.
