Hi Everyone,
I hope you made it okay through the holidays. My husband is from a large family, being one of eight children! Every year, they have a family get-together with a gift exchange, and food, of course! I love his family, they’re fantastic.
This year was our year to host the party. However, Christmas was postponed indefinitely, due to a couple of family members had positive COVID, and then a snow storm had the rest of the family tap out for our Christmas party.
We had a lovely day anyway, with a blanket of snow outside, and a nice fire inside. We took a walk in the snow, and did some household chores.
For those of you who have Lipedema like me, does it feel like you shouldn’t eat all the goodies? Does an overwhelming guilt pass over you? We had a great Christmas brunch with our kids; I made German pancakes—a tradition—with ham and fruit salad. It was soooo yummy! But, I felt a little guilty eating the pancake. That’s what is left over from my eating issues, after trying to lose weight for 4 years without success.
I’m working on resolving that eating issue, but it’s a process. I don’t think it helps that I now need to increase a size in my pants.
Although dieting doesn’t decrease a woman’s Lipedema, a particular diet may be able to target weight loss in the non-lipedema fat. It’s best to keep fit and keep you weight down as much as possible.
Now that the holidays are over, I’m going to focus on an anti-inflammatory diet. From my understanding, Anti-inflammatory or keto, maybe even paleo, are the diets that work best for someone with Lipedema. I have a couple of cookbooks tucked away, and I’ll keep you up-to-date on that progress.
Until next time! Take care of yourself,
Michelle
