Hey Everyone,
Today is my big day. I’ve been waiting for this for an entire year.
I flew down to Los Angeles on Tuesday for my Liposuction surgery. Yesterday I had my pre-op appointment and met with my surgeon, Dr. Schwartz. He explained in detail how the surgery would go today and marked my legs to section off the areas on my body where he would work.
He welcomed any questions I had about this surgery. I think long-term, so my questions were all about after my surgery. I can get caught up in the details of the big picture. However, Dr. Schwartz assured me that there was no need to think too far ahead and that we would take this little by little. His reassurance was so needed. Here’s the artwork he did on my legs:
The red marks are mine. Dr. Schwartz gave me a red ink pen and asked me to mark the areas where I had pain. Pain fluctuates. When I’m walking, my entire lower body hurts. But I marked the areas that hurt while I was standing there. These are the areas that hurt most all the time.
Since my and my husband’s wedding is tomorrow, so we had a nice dinner at The Ivy.
Our waiter brought us a cake and ice cream with a crazy sparkler for a candle!
We even had a celebrity sighting! It was one of the doctors from “Botched.” How appropriate is that?
I’m off to get ready for the rest of my day. Wish me luck.
Take care,
Michelle
How did it go????
So happy you were able to get your surgery! I’m trying to figure out how to get in touch with you. I am a nurse down in Texas and would love to pick your brain and I have finally been diagnosed with Lipedema, which I have very obviously had signs of since puberty. My email is linz4641@hotmail.com. Please get in touch when you have a spare moment.
