What are You Doing for The Holiday Weekend?
Plus a short post on recovering from surgery (not mine!), a relook at L&M, and some links to fun stuff.
It’s July! And in my part of the world, where the weather is perfect this time of year, I spend as much time outside as possible. Today, I’m sitting on my back deck, listening to the birds waking up.
Every July 4th, my husband, Mike, and I would head to Oswego Lake to watch the fireworks. However, Mike had hip surgery three days ago, so we are taking it easy for the holiday weekend. He took such wonderful care of me when I had my lipo surgeries, and now it’s my turn to make him as comfortable as possible.
How are you spending your 4th of July holiday?
Lipedema Awareness Month showed some fantastic advocacy groups doing outreach, information forums, and making waves. I love how our community is growing. The collective impact gets stronger every year.
As I work to grow Lipedema and Me, I’m pleased it’s morphed into a more holistic look at Lipedema. And I want to take it further into a community of sharing and be there for you when you need any help or information. I want to know more about what you would like to know about when it comes to Lipedema.
I feel it’s important to revisit the reason why I started this venture in the first place: to help women get preauthorized for liposuction surgery.
My specialty is in medical insurance and obtaining preauthorization.
If you are considering getting surgery and having issues getting your insurance to preauthorize your procedure and get your surgeon in-network, please contact me. I know there are other options, and I’m aware that some women are having difficulty getting treatment. If so, let’s connect.
If you’d like to schedule a time to talk with me or sign up to work with me on getting preauthorization approval for liposuction. Schedule time here!
While we’ve been laying low for the past few days, I’ve found some great reads on this platform. Let me share some with you:
If you haven’t checked out “Burnt Toast by Virginia Sole-Smith” she writes about fat culture, anti-dieting, with a fat-positive community about body liberation. She has a fantastic newsletter, and has been writing for two years on this platform. She also has a new book out called “Fat Talk".
“Weight and Healthcare” created by Ragen Chastain, examines weight science, weight stigma, and what evidence, ethics, and lived experience teach us about best healthcare and public health practices for higher-weight people.
If you love cooking and eating healthy, “Mind, Body, Spirit, FOOD” is a great newsletter with yummy recipes, intentional eating, and other bits of wisdom.
This is a short post for the weekend. I hope you enjoy your holiday with friends and family!
